Associate Maintenance Technician
A Brief Summary Of This Position
- Supports the maintenance team by assisting with the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and systems.
- Performs a variety of maintenance-related tasks while learning maintenance processes and ensuring equipment and facilities remain safe, functional, and operational to support production requirements.
Essential Functions
- Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and has no direct reports.
- Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Perform basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks under the direction of skilled maintenance personnel.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying potential causes of equipment failures.
- Support preventive maintenance programs by performing inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance activities.
- Assist with facility maintenance activities including lighting, plumbing, painting, grounds maintenance, and general building repairs.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work environment.
- Assist with moving, assembling, and installing machinery, equipment, and production tooling.
- Respond to maintenance service requests and support production needs as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in efforts to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, mechanical repair, or a related field preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete required maintenance records.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
Required Qualifications for Highly Qualified Candidates
- Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and maintenance best practices.
- Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, or other industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
