Associate Lecturer Operating Department Practitioner
About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues with an ODP background to support teaching and learning on our BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice and degree apprenticeship course, within the School of Health and Wellbeing. You will join a friendly and supportive team of registered healthcare professionals who play key roles in the delivery and ongoing development of courses across the School.
Responsibilities
- Teaching or marking assignments on the course
- Collaborating as part of an inter-professional team, teaching across shared and profession-specific modules at all academic levels
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to prepare and deliver a maximum 15-minute teaching session, followed by 10 minutes of questions. The topic will focus on teaching ‘Evidence-Based Practice education for healthcare professions’, aimed at Level 4 (first-year) students. Feedback on the presentation will be provided to the subsequent interview panel.
If successful at interview, you will join a pool of sessional lecturers. Work will be offered based on availability and student numbers, with no guarantee of employment. Hours may be limited to a few per week.
Pay
- Standard hourly rate: £20.10 plus £4.42 annual leave hourly rate (for work not requiring additional preparation and administration)
