Associate Lecturer in Game Art
About the Role
The University of Worcester is expanding its pool of sessional Game Art Lecturers to contribute to teaching for the BA (Hons) Game Art course during the 2026-27 academic year.
Specialist Knowledge & Experience
Successful candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Unreal Engine
- Motion Capture and Rigging
- Digital painting and concept art with strong foundational art skills
- Marmoset Toolbag
- UI Design
- 2D Game Development
- 3D Modelling
- Up-to-date knowledge and/or experience of the games industry
Desirable Skills
The following skills are desirable but not essential:
- Substance Painter and Designer
- Digital Sculpting (ZBrush)
- Marvelous Designer
- AR/VR
Applicants with an ongoing professional practice and detailed knowledge of contemporary game development are encouraged to apply.

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a formal interview and asked to deliver a 15-minute teaching session on a relevant Game Art topic aimed at level 5 undergraduate students. The session should include:
- A clear introduction and presentation
- One or two key concepts covered in-depth
- Student-centered and interactive learning activities
- A conclusion and references
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Teaching skills suitable for a lecturing post
- Depth of understanding of their chosen topic
- Familiarity with academic sources related to the topic
After the teaching session, there will be a Q&A with the interview panel.
If successful, candidates will join a pool of sessional lecturers. Employment is not guaranteed and depends on student numbers, with hours potentially limited to a few per week.
