The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) develops and maintains relationships with sophisticated institutional investors across the US, Canada, and Latin America. AIB focuses on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems, and other institutional investors meet their financial goals. The Pensions team offers clients access to leading global investment solutions across active, passive, alternatives, multi-asset, cash management, and technology.

This position offers the opportunity to join one of the world’s leading asset management firms and contribute to future growth. As an Associate on the Pensions team, you will partner closely with senior Relationship Managers to deliver investment solutions and exceptional client service, gaining broad exposure to institutional investors and investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with pension clients and prospects, working closely with senior Relationship Managers to deliver the firm’s capabilities and serve as a key point of contact.
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ investment objectives and collaborate with Relationship Managers and internal partners to identify tailored solutions.
  • Support the identification and pursuit of new investment opportunities through consultative dialogue with clients and prospects, focusing on strategic products and commercially meaningful opportunities.
  • Collaborate with partners across BlackRock to meet clients’ needs, including coordinating investment expertise, client materials, and follow-up.
  • Contribute to broader Pensions team priorities and initiatives while developing investment knowledge, client relationship skills, and commercial acumen.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in institutional asset management, relationship management, investment consulting, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and institutional investing, with a desire to develop expertise across traditional and alternative investment strategies.
  • Understanding of the needs and investment considerations of institutional investors; experience working with pension plans is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely communicate investment concepts and client-specific information.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex investment and portfolio information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach to relationship management, sales, and service.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA/BS degree in a related field such as Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Has, or is willing to obtain, the SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.

Pay

For New York, NY, the salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 - USD $150,000.00. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Total compensation may vary based on role, location, firm, department, and individual performance.

Schedule

BlackRock’s hybrid work model requires employees to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more in-office time based on their roles and responsibilities. New joiners can expect this model to accelerate learning and onboarding.
