About the role

This role is part of Alcon's Commercial & General Management function, overseeing the company's commercial strategies to ensure operational efficiency and support strategic decision making as we transform the eye care industry.

Responsibilities

  • Create, receive, and handle departmental quote requests, contract requests, and service requests from the surgical sales, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Analyze historical data, trends, and other relevant information to provide insights and recommendations that improve processes, team productivity, and address business challenges.
  • Update bills of materials by replacing or removing discontinued components.
  • Train and develop new sales representatives to understand business processes, sales quoting software, and production workflows.
  • Provide support for system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Handle daily and weekly deviations.
  • Respond to inquiries via the 800-phone line, text messages, and emails using a cloud-based contact center platform to enhance service request handling.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to materials, production, or shipping delays.
  • Assist sales representatives in securing critical account business with high-volume customers by addressing questions and concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Location: Onsite, Houston, TX

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Ophthalmology Surgical Technologist and/or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
  • Experience in Ophthalmology, Inside Sales, Customer Service, or the Medical Device industry
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Exceptional ability to oversee and balance concurrent tasks, cross-functional requests, and time-sensitive project deliverables
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong work ethic, critical thinking ability, & commitment to continuous learning and development
  • Strong ability to multitask and adapt to change quickly
  • Excellent organization and time management skills which are important to handle opposing priorities and deadlines
  • Desire to understand the WHY to understand business processes
