About the Role

The Associate Healthcare Director (AHCD) assists the community’s Healthcare Director (HCD) in leading health and wellness activities for the resident population and ensuring the resident care department operates efficiently and effectively. The AHCD supports the team of medication technicians and nursing assistants in delivering quality care and services while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates residents prior to move-in to determine if their care and service needs can be met in the community; conducts re-evaluations as needed.
  • Develops and revises individualized service plans based on resident evaluations, preferences, and condition changes.
  • Collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, third-party healthcare providers, and other team members to promote coordinated care.
  • Oversees the community’s medication management program, including med tech training, skill validation, routine audits, and safety in medication administration.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures resident evaluations and documentation meet all requirements and keeps the resident care department survey-ready.
  • Participates in developing and complying with plans of correction as needed.
  • Upholds infection control standards to prevent or limit the spread of communicable illness.
  • Provides training and skill validation for med techs, personal care aides, and others to promote safe resident care.
  • Participates in the hiring process, including interviews, onboarding, and training for new resident care team members.
  • Attends community and resident care meetings when the HCD is unavailable.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the community.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all team members.
  • Communicates compassionately with residents’ families, addressing questions or concerns promptly.
  • Completes all required state and company training (initial, annual, and other).
  • Partners with the Harmony Square Director and Healthcare Director on managing behavior expressions and overall wellness needs of Harmony Square residents.
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Current valid and unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state where the community is located.
  • 1–2 years of experience required; 3 or more years preferred.
  • Experience in caring for geriatric individuals and those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to be on-call after hours.
  • Ability to act as Manager-on-Duty on selected weekends.
