Associate - Grocery

About the role

At Joseph's Classic Market, our Grocery Department is the foundation of the shopping experience. From pantry staples and specialty foods to refrigerated and frozen products, our Grocery Associates ensure every aisle is clean, fully stocked, and beautifully presented.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized recommendations
• Absorb customers in locating products throughout the store
• Restock, organize, and rotate dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to maintain product availability and visual appeal
• Ensure shelves, displays, and endcaps remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day
• Rotate products using first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices to maintain freshness and quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Report inventory shortages, damaged products, or merchandising concerns to department leadership
• Absorb other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior grocery, retail, food service, or customer service experience preferred
• Basic math and reading skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
• A passion for serving people

Physical & Work Environment

• Primarily on the sales floor and in grocery backroom storage areas
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, stocking, and organizing products throughout the shift
• Regularly work with dry grocery items as well as refrigerated and frozen products
• Should be comfortable working in varying temperatures as needed
• The position requires safely operating pallet jacks and stocking equipment
