About the role
Cipriani & Werner is a multidisciplinary law firm recognized for understanding the needs and interests of our clients and delivering expected results. The Mount Laurel Office in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new files.
- Client communications.
- Discovery production.
- Research and prepare legal memoranda on various areas of law.
- Prepare and argue discovery.
- Draft and handle substantive, dispositive pre- and post-trial motions and appeals.
- Attend pretrial listings, motions, and trials.
- Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and developing litigation strategy.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, prioritize multiple deadlines, and provide timely reporting while meeting court and client expectations.
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, claims professionals, clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses while delivering exceptional client service.
Requirements
- JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and an active license in good standing in New Jersey.
- 3-5 years of civil litigation experience; insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
- Experience handling all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and litigation strategy development.
- Strong legal research, analytical, writing, oral advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, including experience preparing dispositive motions, discovery motions, and settlement evaluations.
- Familiarity with state and federal court rules and proficiency with legal research platforms, Microsoft Office, and case management/timekeeping software.
- Trial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing experience is a plus.

Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, representing the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.
