Associate General Counsel Payor Relations

About the role
Baptist Health seeks an attorney to join its legal department as Associate General Counsel – Payor Relations. The position will provide legal services to the Payor Relations and Contracting Department, including monitoring and advising on laws related to billing and reimbursement, and analyzing, negotiating, preparing, and enforcing managed care contracts (including dispute resolution). To support the system’s strategic initiatives, this role will also support value-based care contracting, Accountable Care Organization (“ACO”) agreements, and alternative payment models. In addition, the attorney will provide and coordinate legal services for the general support of the health system. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer of the system and will collaborate with peers to support Baptist Health’s healing ministry.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and advise on laws related to billing and reimbursement
- Analyze, negotiate, prepare, and enforce managed care contracts, including dispute resolution
- Support value-based care contracting, ACO agreements, and alternative payment models
- Provide and coordinate legal services for general support of the health system
Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Arkansas
- At least five (5) years of experience in the practice of law
- Legal experience in health and transaction law
- Managed care contracting experience preferred
- Familiarity with value-based care reimbursement structures and ACO regulatory frameworks
