Associate General Counsel, Integrated Supply Chain

Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions. nVent seeks an in-house attorney who will play a pivotal role in crafting supplier strategies and driving business objectives forward.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate supply chain–related agreements (i.e supplier agreements, distribution/logistics contracts, manufacturing agreements, transportation agreements, service-level agreements (SLAs), and technology/automation contracts).
  • Support and guide strategic sourcing and procurement teams in supplier selection and negotiation approach.
  • Develop and maintain uniform supply chain legal templates and guides.
  • Offer recommendations regarding conformity with domestic and international regulations influencing supply chain operations, including tariffs.
  • Identify and mitigate legal, operational, and geopolitical risks across the supply chain.
  • Manage disputes involving suppliers, insurance providers, logistics providers, and manufacturing partners, including claims related to quality, delivery, IP or contract enforcement.
  • Counsel cross-functional units regarding supply chain strategy, operational approaches, technology implementation, and sustainability efforts.
  • Offer counsel regarding environmental, health and safety and real estate topics.
  • Partner with Procurement to support how supplier performance, blocking issues, and risk are managed, ensuring alignment with contracts and long term supplier relationships.
  • Support M&A activities related to supply chain assets or vendor relationships (e.g., due diligence, integration planning).
  • Guide the company’s compliance with forced labor, human rights, and ethical sourcing laws, environmental and sustainability standards and industry or customer-specific ESG requirements.
  • Keep track of changing regulatory trends that affect supply chain transparency and responsible sourcing.
  • Offer counsel regarding legal aspects of supply chain technologies like data analytics, automation, AI in procurement and logistics, and IoT tracking systems.
  • Provide training and mentorship to ISC and Procurement teams on supply chain legal risks, governance, and standard methodologies.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-recognized law school and admitted to the bar in Minnesota (or eligible for admission within 6 months).
  • 10+ years legal experience in-house and/or private practice required, with significant experience in supply chain, procurement, commercial contracting and manufacturing preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of logistics, procurement procedures, trade regulations, and worldwide supply chain activities.
  • Prior experience offering legal counsel on EHS and real estate issues preferred.
  • Previous experience in ESG reporting, sustainability criteria, and responsible sourcing initiatives is preferred.
  • Outstanding negotiation, drafting, communication, and collaborator management skills.
  • Ability to handle complex matters and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use technology to improve contract efficiency and decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic business decision making/problem solving skills.
  • Foreign language skills and/or international experience a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-25%).

Pay

$204,400.00 - $304,000.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
