Associate/Full Professor Clinician-Educator Cardiac Anesthesiologist – CHOP

About the role

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track.

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on cardiothoracic anesthesiology.
  • A B.A. certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required.
  • Teaching responsibilities may include teaching both in our formal didactic lecture program as well as in the informal teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas.
  • Attendance and participation in lectures, presentations, and conferences within the division as well as multidisciplinary conferences is expected.
  • Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care and medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural area.
  • Primary practice is located at the Philadelphia campus of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
  • Research or scholarship responsibilities may include investigator-initiated and collaborative research.

Requirements

  • An M.D. or equivalent degree.
  • A substantial commitment to research.
  • Evidence of continuous scholarly productivity reflecting a defined focus and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows in their own scholarly pursuits will be required.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on cardiothoracic anesthesiology.
