About the role
This position is an entry-level opportunity for an Associate Fire Alarm Inspector Intern at Sciens Building Solutions. The intern will support the company's inspection and maintenance services, working closely with the sales team, field project teams, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Aid in reviewing system layouts and coordinating with systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.
- Assist with testing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Avoid delays by assisting with delivering tests on schedule and within cost budgets.
- Log and transmit inspection reports using technical devices.
- Adhere to industry standards and comply with Sciens safety programs and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
- Knowledge of NFPA code requirements.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 certifications.
- Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing ladders, standing, and walking for most of the workday.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
