About the role
The Associate Financial Advisor role is designed to help you complete the licensing process and gain industry experience, preparing you for a career as a Financial Advisor (FA). Your goal will be to learn and integrate key business-building knowledge and competencies needed to attract and retain clients by helping them achieve their financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Study for and obtain the required licensing through the Associate Financial Advisor program
- Pass the Series 7, Series 66, and life and health insurance exams
- Complete program assignments within the curriculum’s timelines, including:
- RBC tools and technology introduction
- RBC policies and procedures
- Products and services—including scenarios and case studies
- Compliance
- Planning, marketing, prospecting, and servicing
- Report activities and results as required by the program
- Implement coaching from the Associate Financial Advisor sales manager
- Become familiar with RBC Wealth Management
- Maintain awareness of financial news via company-approved sources to support professional development
- Comply with all regulations, rules of regulatory agencies, and company policies
- Complete all RBC Wealth Management new employee orientation modules and others as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to obtain Series 7, Series 66, and life and health insurance exams within 180 days of employment
- Ability to take initiative and function independently
- Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills
- Strong drive and dedication
- Demonstrated ability to develop and promote business; a track record of success
- Ability to make solid decisions in a fast-paced environment

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $50,000–$80,000, depending on experience, skills, and registration status. You may also earn additional compensation through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program, based on business performance and individual goals.
