Associate Field Service Engineer - Spokane (WA)
This role is based in Spokane, Washington. Candidates must live near or be willing to relocate to the area.
About the role
The Associate Field Service Engineer must be customer-focused and able to perform all mechanical and electronic repairs in a timely fashion while meeting administrative requirements. This position requires the highest level of professional representation between the customer and the company, supporting projects, programs, and policies established by the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform low-risk troubleshooting and repairs on the designated modality with a 50% success rate in diagnosing problems while adhering to the escalation procedure.
- Perform supervised calibrations and preventative maintenance on the designated modality.
- Work safely in confined areas, including high-current/high-voltage modulators (20-50 kV, 1500A), using peripheral vision to gauge distances. Confined areas may present hand/arm traps; depth perception is critical.
- Work safely on Elekta’s full range of products, including medical devices producing high-energy ionizing radiation.
- Read, analyze, interpret, and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Submit service reports, timesheets, expense reports, film badges, and other paperwork accurately and on time.
- Manage parts inventory.
- Provide product feedback to the home office.
- Maintain all company-leased equipment, including company automobiles, parts, and tools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Electronics, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Good electro-mechanical aptitude.
- Computer literacy.
- Proficiency in using test equipment and hand tools, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), including ESD requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally and positively.
- Ability to organize and prepare reports.
- Willingness to travel and work unsociable hours.
- Uphold Elekta’s philosophy and policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain an active driver’s license in the home state.
- Ability to read, speak, write, and comprehend the English language.
Physical Requirements
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle objects and tools; reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move light to moderate weight. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The noise level and temperature in the work environment are usually moderate. Must be able to travel as needed for the business.
