About the role
As an Associate Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ALC’s business by commissioning building automation systems tailored to each customer. This position serves as your introduction to a Field Engineering career, starting with foundational assignments and progressing to more complex projects to develop your skills. The ideal candidate is a 2025 or 2026 graduate of a Technical Trade school or High School with a focus in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
As a new Associate Field Engineer, you will participate in the TechVantage Ignite Program, which includes a 2-week paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia, for comprehensive training. The program also features team-building activities and begins on October 28, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
- Offer effective solutions for system issues.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on small to mid-level projects.
- Ensure systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
- Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.
- Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Valid and current Driver’s License, insurable by the company’s insurance.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field (preferred).
- Interest in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or a related field.
- Interest in building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
Pay
The annual salary for this position ranges from $35,500 to $71,500. Factors affecting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position may also be eligible for short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
