Associate Faculty - Nutrition
About the role
This position is responsible for preparing and teaching courses in Nutrition. This position reports to the Dean of Academic Transfer and Allied Health and works closely with the Math and Science Division Chair as well as other faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with the Master Course Outline and in consultation with a full-time faculty member.
- Meet the class times as required by the quarterly schedule, in the required instructional modality.
- Aid students with questions related to the course(s) being taught.
- Maintain frequent communication with students.
- Refer students to appropriate college resources as needed.
- Maintain and submit grades and attendance reports to college personnel when required.
- Submit assessment data in consultation with a full-time faculty member in the department.
- Aid with development, selection, and/or recommend the selection of instructional materials for courses being taught.
- Schedule and hold a minimum of one office hour per week; online or face-to-face.
- Maintain an educational environment that promotes student learning and success.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nutrition or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Previous teaching experience, or relevant and equitable work experience in the desired field.
- Experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching at a community college within the previous three years.
- Experience working with non-traditional students.
- Experience using innovative teaching techniques.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Associate Faculty receive quarterly contracts. Payment is based on $987.71/lecture credit.
