About the role
This position is responsible for preparing and teaching courses in Art, including theory and application classes. It reports to the Dean of Academic Transfer and Allied Health and works closely with the Humanities Division Chair as well as other faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with the Master Course Outline and in consultation with a full-time faculty member.
- Meet the class times as required by the quarterly schedule, in the required instructional modality.
- Aid students with questions related to the course(s) being taught.
- Maintain frequent communication with students.
- Refer students to appropriate college resources as needed.
- Submit assessment data in consultation with a full-time faculty member in the department.
- Aid with development, selection, and/or recommend the selection of instructional materials for courses being taught.
- Schedule and hold a minimum of one office hour per week; online or face-to-face.
- Maintain an educational environment that promotes student learning and success.
Requirements
- Master's degree or an MFA in Art from a regionally accredited institution.
- Previous teaching experience, or relevant and equitable work experience in the desired field.
- Experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Qualifications
- An MFA in Art from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience teaching at a community college within the previous three years.
- Experience working with non-traditional students.
- Experience using innovative teaching techniques.
Skills

- Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Pay
Associate Faculty receive quarterly contracts. Payment is based on $987.71/lecture credit.
