Associate, Executive Leadership Programs
About the Role
Metis Strategy, a management and strategy consulting firm focused on the intersection of business and technology, is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our San Francisco Bay Area team. We serve as trusted advisors to Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies, helping them meet critical business objectives through tailored engagements and deep professional relationships. Our work spans industries, addressing business and digital strategy as well as organizational change.
The Associate supports Executive Leadership Programs by capturing, synthesizing, and translating insights from executive conversations, events, trainings, and consulting engagements into structured research, thought leadership, and internal intelligence. This role draws heavily on insights from client work across the firm but does not involve direct consulting project delivery. Instead, the Associate manages and elevates executive-level insights, connecting dots across engagements to inform programming and shape the firm’s perspective on key topics.
Metis Strategy encourages the responsible use of AI tools to enhance productivity. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with AI daily, exercising strong editorial judgment over AI-generated content, and critically evaluating its output for gaps, biases, and inaccuracies.
Responsibilities
- Executive Insight Synthesis:
- Review and synthesize notes, recordings, and materials from executive network meetings, leadership trainings, conferences, and other interactions into clear themes and insights.
- Identify recurring patterns to inform Metis Strategy’s research agenda and programming priorities.
- Distinguish signal from noise, preserving nuance while surfacing consequential insights for senior technology leaders.
- Research and Content Development:
- Draft insight briefs, research summaries, presentations, articles, and background materials for internal and external use, including original written content informed by executive conversations.
- Support development of curated executive research and firm thought leadership (e.g., keynotes).
- Edit and refine consultant-authored articles for clarity, consistency, and executive readiness while preserving the author’s intent.
- Act as an editorial partner in shaping Metis Strategy’s point of view on priority topics, pushing for clear, differentiated perspectives.
- Help curate and produce two newsletters—one weekly and another monthly—for an executive audience.
- Insight Management and Internal Enablement:
- Maintain and manage an executive insights and themes tracker, tagging insights by topic, industry, function, and relevance to firm priorities.
- Leverage tracked insights to surface new patterns and proactively route relevant themes to consulting leaders.
- Work closely with consulting teams to incorporate executive network insights into client work and feed learnings back into the executive programs and research agenda.
- Ensure requested insights, materials, and follow-ups are tracked and fulfilled, attending select sessions or events for real-time insight capture.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of post-undergraduate experience supporting senior leaders through research, synthesis, writing, or insight development in advisory, research, or editorial settings.

- Commitment to operational rigor and follow-through to ensure insights and commitments are consistently tracked and delivered.
- Comfort operating behind the scenes while working closely with senior leaders and high-visibility work.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and synthesize large amounts of data.
- Facility with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Visio) is a plus.
