About the role

SLR Consulting (US) is a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals dedicated to delivering environmental and sustainability services. We are seeking an Associate Environmental Geologist/Engineer/Scientist to join our Anchorage, Alaska operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients from a variety of industries
  • Collect groundwater, surface water, and soil samples
  • Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanup
  • Assist other SLR teams with work in a variety of disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and compliance
  • Travel to clients' facilities for inspections and document review
  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to solve basic calculations and unit conversions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Willing to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from Anchorage
  • Possess valid driver’s license

Preferred Technical Skills And Experience

  • PFAS remediation
  • MS Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science
  • Groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling experience
  • Conducting hazardous materials surveys and sampling
  • Technical writing
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Understanding of industrial operations and equipment, large and small
  • Knowledge of Alaska environmental regulations
