About The Position

Emphasis for this position is on traffic calming projects and initiatives. Coordinate and perform a variety of multi-modal transportation, transit, and traffic planning and design activities to enable safe, attractive, comfortable, and independent access and travel for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit users of all ages and abilities.

Transportation activities include policy development, design, integration, recommendation, implementation, oversight, and analysis of City-wide and regional transportation policies, programs and projects including Transportation Demand Management (TDM), transportation plans, parking programs, traffic modeling, and review of Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs).

Performs professional and technical civil engineering work in support of City public works and private development projects starting with simple projects and moving to more complex ones. Employees in this job class provide general engineering support and direction to a variety of public and private projects. Projects worked on may include civil works projects including: roads, drainage, grading, buildings, water and wastewater pipelines and treatment facilities, tanks, parks and landscaping, bike paths, environmental mitigation and other related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement traffic calming projects and initiatives.
• Coordinate multi-modal transportation, transit, and traffic planning and design activities.
• Perform policy development, design, integration, recommendation, implementation, oversight, and analysis of transportation policies, programs, and projects.
• Conduct traffic modeling and review Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs).
• Provide professional and technical civil engineering support for public works and private development projects, including roads, drainage, grading, buildings, water and wastewater systems, parks, and bike paths.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• 4 Year Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Pay

$11,762 - $14,297 per month
