About the role

We’re seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering Division. Under the direction of a Project Manager, this position performs both field and office work related to the design, planning, and management of public infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering tasks related to the design of roadway, utility improvements, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare design studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
  • Cover conduct plan checks and coordinate with contractors, agencies, and subconsultants.
  • Monitor project tasks to ensure conformance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Support construction management and inspection activities.
  • Participate in marketing, proposal preparation, and business development efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Aid Project Managers in developing project schedules, budgets, and documentation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of California.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil infrastructure, utility improvements, roadway, drainage, or municipal projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiar with water, wastewater, and stormwater modeling software.
  • Experience managing or assisting in the management of design projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction management and inspection processes.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000 (DOE)- Plus bonus opportunities
