Associate Endoscope Technician

About the Role

Every Endoscope Technician must understand and accept the responsibility to ensure the safety of all Olympus products that are repaired by following established processes and procedures. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Technician evaluates, troubleshoots, disassembles, assembles, repairs, and/or inspects endoscopes to assure proper function. The role involves using a variety of small hand tools and test equipment, completing and maintaining accurate service records, and adhering to safe work practices. Technicians may also be assigned to support business needs in other areas outside their primary responsibility and proactively participate in quality systems, quality improvement, and "5S" programs. Confidentiality of documents and processes must be maintained, and a clean, well-organized work environment is expected. Overtime may be required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble, repair, and inspect endoscopes to ensure proper function.
• Use small hand tools and test equipment (e.g., screwdrivers, electric screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers, microscopes, light sources, video processors, mega ohm testers) for repairs and assembly.
• Complete and maintain accurate service records both electronically and manually.
• Follow established safety guidelines and work practices.
• Support business needs by working in other areas as assigned.
• Participate in quality systems, quality improvement, and "5S" programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of documents and processes.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards; work overtime as needed.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent working knowledge and responsibilities (preferred).
• Minimum of six months to one year of experience working with repeatable, detailed processes requiring dexterity and hand-eye coordination, or demonstrated ability to perform medical device manufacturing or repair.
• Sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers).
• Experience or ability to work with microscopes, test equipment, and hand soldering (where applicable).
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, job standards, and related information.
• Basic computer skills (including keyboard and mouse).
• Customer-focused and oriented.

Skills & Development

• Entry-level role focused on acquiring job skills and learning company policies and procedures.
• Following technical training and completion of an initial skill set, the Associate Endoscope Technician will perform functions related to the repair and service of endoscopes.
• Must reach and maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality based on time in the role.
• Participates in technical training to become proficient at one stage within the assigned department.
• Works on routine assignments with limited judgment; has a role in decision-making related to repairs.
• Normally receives detailed instructions on all work and operates under close supervision.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of six months to one year of experience with detailed processes or medical device manufacturing/repair.
• Preferred: Medical device experience.
