Associate Electronics Hardware Technician (1st Shift)
About the role
SRCTec, LLC is hiring an Associate Electronics Hardware Technician to support our fast-paced Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production and SMT rework operations. Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, SMT rework, hand soldering, and IPC Class 2/3 standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) production, SMT assembly, and SMT rework tasks
- Perform hand soldering and machine soldering for SMT secondary operations and PCA rework
- Complete manual soldering and PCB assembly operations with high accuracy
- Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and detailed assembly instructions
- Use computer systems to access, interpret, and follow production work instructions and procedures
- Support front-end SMT tasks including component ordering, trolley setup, de-kitting/teardown, and component X-ray verification
- Adeptly adapt to shifting priorities and multitask in a fast-paced SMT production environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
Requirements
- High school diploma and 5+ years of related experience, or an associate degree in a related field
- Preferred: 5+ years of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and build effective working relationships
- General computer proficiency (Word and Excel)
- Skilled in using hand tools and capable of lifting 40 pounds
Qualifications
- Experience with IPC Class 2 & 3 soldering required (J-STD-001 certification preferred)
- Experience with SMT rework, SMT board heaters, and PCB rework equipment preferred
- Hands-on experience with SMT processes, PCB assembly techniques, and precision soldering in a manufacturing environment
Skills

Pay
The anticipated hourly range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $23/hour to $27/hour. The hourly rate will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
