Applied Physical Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Associate Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our team in Pawcatuck, CT. This role supports engineering staff in implementing electrical designs and offers exposure to cutting-edge, multidisciplinary technologies in a small-company environment that values innovation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering staff in the production, integration, and test of electronic systems.
  • Assist with setup and execution of factory acceptance test procedures.
  • Support procurement of printed circuit boards and other project materials.
  • Create, update, and track engineering process instructions.
  • Execute small-scale engineering tests, collect and analyze data, and present findings.
  • Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical assemblies and wire harnesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or computer engineering technology (0–3 years of relevant experience).
  • Proven experience building and testing circuits and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with common lab equipment: oscilloscopes, voltage probes, multimeters, Meg-Ohm meters, signal analyzers, etc.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and update drawings using Electrical CAD software.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical assemblies, soldering, and basic hand tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (typically requires U.S. citizenship and a background investigation).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Altium Design.
  • Experience with PCB board design, layout, and procurement.
  • Basic knowledge of a coding language (Python, C/C++).
  • Interest in supporting production of complex electrical assemblies.
