EAD supports clients' projects on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities specializing in food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and parcel handling. This opportunity offers a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs; monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and EAD standards.
  • Electrical design with primary responsibilities of power, lighting, and grounding per client requirements.
  • Provide studies of power quality, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis.
  • Develop capital expenditure cost estimates for design/build projects.
  • Coordinate with other internal team members on multi-discipline projects, including architects, mechanical, process, civil, and structural engineers.
  • Work with designers and drafters to produce detailed designs.
  • Resolve design and development problems.
  • Deliver quality construction documentation—specifications, schematics, power and lighting plans, one-lines, etc.
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, project teams, and vendors.
  • Participate in discipline-specific and company-wide business development.
  • Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team.
  • Adhere to all EAD's safety standards and practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3 years' experience in electrical design of industrial and commercial projects.
  • P.E., F.E., or commitment to obtain F.E. within the first 12 months; desire to obtain Licensed Professional Engineer certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and in-house support staff.
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of the NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.

Working Conditions

  • Office, plant, or client site environment.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions.
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Office, commercial, and/or industrial setting with potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Periodic weekend, holiday, or evening work as needed.
  • Travel and/or field experience required.

EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
