Responsibilities

  • Acts as an electrical engineering resource to assist Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot machine control problems when additional resources, skills, or knowledge are required to solve the problem.
  • Manages machine and equipment upgrade projects including investigations, cost estimates, installations, and start-up.
  • Learns new capital equipment operation, controls structure/design, and hardware in order to build knowledge and proficiency to support and implement effective maintenance.
  • Aware of industry standards and strives to improve and implement safety, such as National and State Electrical codes and NFPA70E (arc flash) codes.
  • Supports preventative maintenance on electrical substations and high voltage switchgear, documenting observations, testing, and follow-up actions.
  • Participates on equipment project teams, safety teams, and continuous improvement teams to continuously improve operations (including safety, quality, service, and costs).

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 0 – 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field
  • CAD skills are preferred
  • Knowledge of plant power distribution, control systems, and PLC’s
  • Ability to use measuring devices, read mechanical/electrical drawings, develop and use charts and schedules
  • Self-starter and proactive in taking action on projects
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to interact with plant personnel at all levels
  • General training or understanding of industry safety work practices

Pay

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $92,600; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $74,100 to $111,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
