Associate Dispatcher

About the Role
Monitors, dispatches and load-balances work orders to field personnel. Responds to requests for information and provides communication between customer service representatives and field personnel.
Responsibilities
- Answers the telephone and performs call-ahead requests for field technicians.
- Receives and dispatches calls and locates.
- Dispatches orders via Mobile Data.
- Monitors, routes, and documents work orders to service technicians; reviews backlogged work orders.
- Coordinates daily operational requirements between internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolves scheduling concerns between the company’s Call Center, customers, and supervision to achieve optimum results.
- Acts as liaison between the company, customers, state and local governmental agencies in an emergency situation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience with SAP or a mobile data dispatching system.
- At least one year of experience in or supporting gas distribution operations, or at least one year of equivalent dispatching experience.
Physical Requirements
- Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Able to demonstrate and apply the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and common office equipment.
- Able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Able to communicate either through written and verbal means in person or through technical equipment such as a telephone.
Working Conditions
- Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
- Able to work in an office environment.
- Able to work regular hours, with occasional or mandatory overtime; may be required to work rotating shifts.
