Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the administrative and operational activities related to graduate student recruitment and admissions in the Graduate Studies Office (GSO).
- Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, programs, and events targeting prospective graduate students as well as current and potential industry partners.
- Direct day-to-day operations and administrative management of a student recruitment office; implement program initiatives, answer questions, and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain and stay abreast of trends in recruiting and changes in academic programs.
- Assist with the development of long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, department, and university goals; monitor and achieve established goals.
- Recommend, implement, and interpret internal rules, policies, procedures, and controls; manage processes to advance service levels; develop and implement responsive service programs.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the Associate Dean; consult with Associate Dean and GSO staff on major policy changes; serve on various university, division, and departmental committees; represent the department at state and national associations.
- Serve as the college resource to students on university services and programs; explain and interpret college/program policies, procedures, and academic requirements.
- Compile data required for internal and external reports and assessments; interpret and disseminate information; assist in the development of recruitment and promotional materials; deliver presentations and conduct workshops.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with departments/units regarding recruitment efforts that enrich the student experience.
- Maintain working relationships with Department Heads, Departmental Graduate Program Directors, and regional industrial partners.
- Utilize marketing and outreach strategies, including digital, web, and social media channels, to support student recruitment and engagement.
- Travel during key recruitment periods and work evenings, weekends, and beyond a traditional work week as needed.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (e.g., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Supervision experience.
