Florida A&M University's Division of Student Affairs is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Associate Director, Student Health Services vacancy.

About the Role

Direct and oversee all administrative, financial, and fiscal operations of Student Health Services; Prepare, monitor, and update the Non-E&G operating budget using FAMU Budget Office templates; Process budget transfers, journals, and encumbrances in Workday; and manage eProcurement, requisitions, invoice processing, Time & Labor/payroll entries, and all contract and professional services agreements to ensure clinic operations and budgetary resources remain in balance. Responsible for directing administrative functions and services of Student Health Services in conjunction with the Director. Areas of supervision include clinical services, employee/occupational health services, quality improvement and infection control.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and evaluate clinical protocols, standards of care, policies and practices;
  • May serve in the absence of the SHS Director;
  • Maintain provider hours seeing patients in the clinic 24 hours per week;
  • Participate in activities to maintain regulatory compliance, licensure and accreditation;
  • Attend meetings and conduct programs/presentations in the Director’s absence or at the request of the Director;
  • Participate/chair professional and administrative committees;
  • Interface with local community partners, local and state agencies, and other organizations;
  • Facilitate and participate in professional development activities;
  • Participate in health center strategic, long- and short-range planning; preparation of required reporting for Student Health Services;
  • Oversee inventories for office equipment/supplies/furnishings;
  • and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience;
  • or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices;
  • Ability to represent the University in appointed area as required;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and clinical protocols for areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and professional regulations and for efficient clinic operations;
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University and SHS rules, regulations, policies, procedures and practices;

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment. Only United States (U.S.) citizens or aliens who have a legal right to work in the U.S. are eligible for employment. Federal law requires proof of your authorization to work in the United States. You will be required to provide proof of your identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of employment. Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person’s period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide documentation.
