Associate Director, Scientific Communications
About the role
We're seeking an Associate Director, Scientific Communications for our Medical Strategy team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Scientific Communications, you'll assist in developing and implementing global Medical Communications Strategy across regions. Your responsibilities include collaborating with various teams, such as Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical Development, Advocacy, Commercial and Market Access, and external medical experts. You'll also play a crucial role in planning and executing scientific and medical communications deliverables, particularly for the Insmed respiratory franchise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scientific platforms, scientific lexicon, scientific narratives, and the Insmed Medical Communications plan for the assigned therapeutic area(s) and products within the respiratory franchise.
- Aid in the creation and execution of the global medical communication strategy and education plan, including congress strategy, symposia, field medical tools and resources, and other scientific programs.
- Participate in the design and implementation of global congress strategy in assigned therapeutic areas and assist in developing cross-functional plans for key congresses.
- Review scientific materials and represent content during medical, legal, and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in alignment with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgets.
- Manage external vendors and provide clear, concise direction to ensure the successful execution of medical content planning and execution.
Requirements
- An advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a scientific discipline with 5 years of demonstrated experience in design and implementation of Medical Communication Strategies, including oversight to gap analyses, congress strategies, scientific content development, digital asset generation, and scientific platform development and maintenance.
- Expertise in assessing and applying scientific/clinical data to strategy, with the ability to interpret and organize complex data, including reviewing pre-clinical and clinical trial data and output from statistical analyses.
- Experience in designing scientific communications strategy in alignment with corporate strategy, working closely with external and internal experts, and managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within collaborative and cross-functional teams and interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Experience in orphan or rare disease areas, prior launch experience, and/or experience in PH, ILD, IPF, or PPF.
Skills
- Knowledge of relevant guidance including, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) guidelines, CME Open Payments reporting.
- Ability to interpret and organize highly complex scientific data including reviewing pre-clinical and clinical trial data and output from statistical analyses.
- Experience working closely with external and internal experts.
- Experience managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience managing external vendors and providing clear, concise direction.

Pay
$164,000.00 - $213,000.00 Annual
Schedule
This is a fully remote role. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected. Travel requirements are approximately 15%.
