About the role
Manage a team of Sales Engineers responsible for designing and delivering advanced solutions to help move the sales process forward and win business. Typically pre-sales-oriented, providing technical expertise and engaging customers and stakeholders over the course of the sales cycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train and motivate your team to effectively develop Verizon differentiated complex solutions (including network, security, strategic communications and professional services) based on customers'/prospects' business requirements.
- Discovering opportunities for more effective technical support to the sales team.
- Monitoring and redirecting efforts and resources as appropriate to maximize sales results.
- Developing and cultivating relationships with senior management and executive levels.
- Interfacing directly with client personnel at all levels as required to provide consistent, high quality technical support and to develop sales/service opportunities.
- Participating in executive briefings and customer presentations.
- Conducting periodic operations reviews with SAs to maintain a focus and cadence on excellence.
- Covering all SA's training against assigned curriculum roadmaps in a timely manner.
- Conducting frequent, regular one on one sessions with each SA.
- Addressing performance concerns and ensuring PDP or PIP is implemented when necessary in accordance with HR guidelines.
- Engaging with peer organizations to resolve customer issues.
- Providing timely market information, drivers and customer feedback to our partner organizations for product and technology positioning and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Six or more years of experience in a variety of disciplines related to the selling of IT and managing telecommunications solutions.
- Six or more years of experience in a customer facing leadership role with accountability for end to end delivery (i.e. Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Service Delivery Architect).
- Five or more years of architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT and/or telecom based products and services.
- Five or more years of experience delivering customer presentations and preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and network/system designs.
- Knowledge of TOGAF and/or ITIL standards for architecture and delivery.
- Financial analysis experience (P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development, etc).
Qualifications
- Current and valid industry certifications in one or more of the following, Cisco: Cisco Certified Design Associate/ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCDA/CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional/ Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCNP/CCDP), Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP), Microsoft, Tandberg, and/or Polycom.
- Experience in sales or service.
- Experience providing successful project delivery.

- Ensuring the feasibility of the proposed solution with the delivery and product teams.
- Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support by building and communicating the value proposition.
- Writing proposals and supporting the contracting process—ensuring that all technical needs along with legal and compliance needs are all satisfied.
- Training team members in the customer applications of technologies.
- Leading critical initiatives, coordinating sales solutions activities, and tracking and reporting success metrics.
- Making recommendations regarding the hiring, firing, advancement, performance, promotion or any other change of status of team members.
- Assessing employee performance, holding employees accountable, taking appropriate corrective actions, and training and providing ongoing direction and feedback to team members.

Pay
$159,500.00 - $278,000.00 annually.
Schedule
This is a mobile role, primarily working from customer or field locations, with occasional visits to a Verizon location for in-person training and meetings. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.
