Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading, developing and coordinating the daily operations of the Flight Service. Serves as a liaison to affiliate services, both contracted and non-contracted, and provides related service contract oversight. Manages the purchasing, receiving, storage, delivery and distribution of materials, medications, equipment and supplies for the department. Core Functions

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Flight Services.
  • Serves as a liaison to affiliate services, both contracted and non-contracted, and provides related service contract oversight.
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills and demonstrates behavior consistent with system standards.
  • Maintains ready flight status.
  • Manages staff resources by overseeing the recruiting, selecting, hiring and orienting and ongoing education of qualified individuals.
  • Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective and timely manner.
  • Develops and monitors applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agency standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSN or MSN required.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical operations as normally demonstrated through three to five years of experience relevant to patient population.
  • Requires a current RN license in state of practice.
  • Must be able to maintain ready flight status.
  • Requires BLS certification.
  • Acquires ACLS, PALS, NRP, CFRN (can substitute CEN or CCRN), and CMTE within 2 years of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
