About the role
The successful candidate will assist in the delivery and development of the real estate fund services, in alignment with the Aztec Group brand values and strategic business goals. This individual will be required to manage client relationships through effectively leading dedicated client teams to deliver a superior standard of service in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: lead and scale a team of technical accountants across all aspects of Real Estate Funds & SPV accounting.
- Client Service: Responsible for managing the client relationships and service delivery for US Real Estate clients and in leveraging the global capabilities of the firm to meet US RE client needs.
- Act as authority on day to day queries and as “B” level 4-eyes signatory on accounting administration matters, ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts.
- Liaise with professional advisors and intermediaries during investment transactions and in relation to general market happenings and operating matters.
- Review service provided and requested scope changes across teams to ensure that appropriate billing opportunities are identified, and appropriate action taken.
- Manage the on-going training and development requirements of team members as well as the health, growth and cohesiveness of the team itself.
- Business Development: Assist with proposals, pitches and presentations in conjunction with the US Leadership team and the business development team and participate in new client proposals/pitches as necessary.
- Participate in the development of detailed client pricing and potentially in related negotiations.
Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
- Sound technical financial services and accounting knowledge.
- Experience with Yardi is highly preferred.
- Evidence of responsibility for a major client relationship(s).
- Focus on team member growth, i.e. what training could and should be provided to and completed by members of the team – leverage and expand the coverage of the Aztec Academy where possible.
Qualifications
- Experience as or at either or both of the following is required: Controller, or senior accountant at a fund; preferably at a Real Estate focused fund.
- CPA certified during career or MBA in relevant field, preferred.
