Job Summary

The Associate Director, Rare Neurology Thought Leader Liaisons Subnational Tactics & Insights for Alexion Neurology is a strategic role within the US commercial organization, responsible for driving the localization of data, marketing materials, and tactical plans to match regional market dynamics across the gMG and NMOSD portfolios.

About the Role

Serves as the fusion point for multi-sourced insights from neurology field forces, Business Operations & Commercial Excellence (BOCE), market research, and marketing, ensuring subnational strategies are grounded in real-world intelligence and tailored to the unique competitive, clinical, and access landscapes of distinct geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central fusion point for multi-sourced insights, integrating intelligence from neurology TLLs, field sales teams, BOCE analytics, market research, and brand marketing into a cohesive subnational market picture.
  • Partner with BOCE to leverage prescriber analytics, patient flow data, claims analyses, and competitive intelligence to identify subnational market trends, growth opportunities, and emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with market research to ensure primary and secondary research programs incorporate subnational hypotheses and generate regionally actionable outputs.
  • Develop and distribute recurring Subnational Insights Reports that highlight regional market dynamics, competitive shifts, access landscape changes, and thought leader sentiment across key geographies.
  • Coordinate alignment and allocation of Prioritized Intelligence Questions to insights sources.
  • Identify patterns and emerging signals across data sources that may not be visible within any single function.
  • Lead the strategic localization of national brand materials, data presentations, and tactical resources to reflect regional market dynamics, competitive environments, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Translate national clinical data and real-world evidence into subnational storylines that address regionally specific treatment patterns, formulary considerations, and competitive positioning challenges.
  • Design and coordinate subnational initiatives such as regional advisory boards, local speaker programs, and targeted educational engagements that address geography-specific knowledge gaps and treatment barriers with brand marketing teams.
  • Establish and track subnational KPIs and performance metrics that measure the impact of localized tactics on thought leader engagement, prescriber behavior, and commercial outcomes in partnership with TLL Directors.
  • Lead quarterly subnational planning reviews that bring together TLLs, sales leadership, and marketing to assess performance, recalibrate tactics, and identify emerging regional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years' work experience in bio/pharma, with demonstrated expertise in commercial insights, analytics, field strategy, or marketing operations.
  • Experience in a combination of one or more of the following areas: commercial analytics, market research, field-based roles (sales, MSL, TLL), brand marketing, or commercial operations.
  • Proven track record of synthesizing complex, multi-sourced data into clear, actionable strategic recommendations that drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with ability to identify meaningful patterns and insights across quantitative and qualitative data sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate national strategies into regionally differentiated tactical plans.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills with proven ability to influence without direct authority and build productive partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to create compelling narratives from complex data and present to senior leadership audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, business intelligence tools, and analytics platforms.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors or Graduate degree (MBA, MSc, MPH, or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Neurology or rare disease therapeutic areas.
  • Background working with field-based teams (TLLs, MSLs, or sales) in support, strategy, or insights capacity.
  • Experience with advanced analytics methodologies, including segmentation, predictive modeling, or geospatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with thought leader engagement strategies and KOL mapping/tiering frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success building insights infrastructure or processes from the ground up in emerging or evolving commercial organizations.
  • Strong storytelling skills with ability to make data compelling and accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Self-driven with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where role definition evolves.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on tactical execution.
  • Established understanding of the gMG and NMOSD competitive landscapes and treatment paradigms.

Pay

The annual base pay for this position ranges from 151,081.60 - 226,622.40 $ USD.

Schedule

Willing to travel approximately 20–30% of the time including overnight travel to attend field visits, regional meetings, and key congresses.
