Job Description
The Associate Director, Category Value Generation is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic vision for category management within a specific category, ensuring sustained value generation. This role involves implementing best practices, standards, and policies, driving category performance improvement initiatives, fostering collaboration among category managers and stakeholders, and serving as a central knowledge base for category management expertise.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the strategic vision for category management within a respective category, building a robust foundation for sustained value generation and enabling LRP success.
- Administer the development and implementation of category management best practices within a respective category, including enacting standards, policies and procedures, and training modules.
- Deploy category performance improvement initiatives, working alongside relevant category managers to develop, implement and track category strategies aligned with a standard category management framework.
- Facilitate collaboration between category managers and relevant stakeholders, activating core category management processes, including regular Category Business Reviews within a respective category.
- Enable collaboration and information sharing within a respective category, serving as a central knowledge base for category management expertise and ensuring accountability across the category management function.
- Manage tracking and reporting on category management performance, leveraging key category performance metrics for holistic value generation and identifying areas for improvement.
- Seek out high-visibility opportunities to share category value generation thought leadership in internal and external venues, positioning the team as a pillar of thought leadership across the industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt or related field. Masters degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related business or operations function.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing senior internal business and functional leaders.
- Proven expertise in category management and detailed understanding of category-specific requirements.
- Experience leading the development and implementation of category strategy to optimize processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
