About the Role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) is recruiting for the position of Associate Director, Patient Data Strategy and Management for Oncology and Neuroscience within the Customer Engagement and Digital Transformation (CEDT) team. This position is based in Titusville, NJ.
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to act as the data quarterback for Patient Data for our Oncology and Neuroscience brands. This individual will lead the data strategy, management, and operations for the current portfolio and future launches. The Associate Director will govern all business process rules, coordinate data consumption and transformation from ingestion to downstream solutions, and ensure high-quality data for insights, analytics, patient experience, sales, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall management and operations of patient data for the Oncology and Neuroscience portfolio, overseeing strategy, operations, and ongoing quality of data assets (HUB, patient support programs, specialty pharmacy, claims, etc.).
- Lead the ongoing quality and application of the JJIM data pipeline supporting insights & analytics, patient experience, sales, and marketing organizations.
- Act as the key contact ("data quarterback") within the StAT organization for patient data-related needs, queries, and issues, advising teams on optimal data sources for business questions.
- Lead the data governance program for patient data in the Oncology and Neuroscience portfolio; supervise data quality and resolve data-related issues.
- Manage data change management, issue resolution, and integration projects for existing products and new launches, including validation and change management activities.
- Lead data-centric projects to resolution through resource management, execution, and communication (e.g., data onboarding, data events/disruptions).
- Collaborate with internal business partners on data validation and coordination activities for stakeholders and reports/systems.
- Engage business process owners to align on action plans for mitigating data events/changes impacting commercial operations.
- Lead annual data purchase or processing budgets for the assigned portfolio, build POs, and collaborate with finance, procurement, and business owners on spending oversight.
- Maintain an inventory of purchased data and promote organizational awareness of its application in relevant use cases.
- Evaluate new data sources for potential insights, competitive advantage, and future data strategy.
- Ensure data vendors align with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data quality, timely delivery, error reporting, and resolution of data inquiries.
Requirements
- 8+ years of validated experience in data management, analytics, insights, or commercial excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Technology, Analytics, or Health Sciences; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of pharma industry data sources/products, including first-party data (HUB, Patient Support Programs), second-party data (Specialty Pharmacy), and syndicated/secondary data (IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, SPP, patient claims, RWE/HEOR, IDN/ACO affiliations).
- Previous experience establishing and leading data partnerships with external vendors.
- Strong grasp of data analytics, AI, and machine learning concepts and their application to business operations.
- Proficiency in data querying/business intelligence tools and systems for managing large datasets.
- Understanding of data governance methodologies, data lifecycle, data quality, metadata, and data management.
- Critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities based on meticulous data analysis.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate across cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry-specific compliance considerations.

Pay
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $137,000 to $235,750 USD.
