Associate Director, Partnerships & Philanthropy
About the role
We are transforming lives in rural Africa through education and innovation. Our eSchool 360 program equips locally-hired teachers with tablets and projectors to deliver interactive eLearning lessons, moving away from traditional rote learning. Teachers receive weekly coaching and professional development to enhance their pedagogical and technology skills. This model operates in 40+ schools, impacting over 6,000 students, with recent seventh-grade graduates achieving an 86% pass rate on examinations—compared to the district-wide average of 55%.
Programs
- Impact Education: Provides eLearning resources, teacher training, and coaching to improve educational outcomes in rural schools.
- Impact Girls: Supports girls and young women through programs on sports, empowerment, and menstrual health hygiene to ensure they stay in school and thrive.
- Impact Health: Uses the classroom as a starting point to improve student health through projects on child protection, life skills, and sexuality.
Evidence-Based Approaches
We make decisions using high-quality, independent evidence. In 2017, we launched a 35-school expansion project with a randomized controlled trial conducted by the American Institutes for Research. The midline evaluation, conducted 14 months after children started school, found statistically significant impacts over the control group:
- 15% increase in enrollment
- 103% increase in literacy scores
- 55% increase in numeracy scores
The evaluation will continue through 2021 to assess long-term academic impact.
