About the role

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Division. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Children's Wisconsin hospital campus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for cancer survivorship research, aligning with the Cancer Center's mission and goals, identifying unmet needs and opportunities for funded research;
  • Build a cancer survivorship program across the lifespan;
  • Coordinate research initiatives to improve the quality of life and long-term health outcomes for cancer survivors. Bring together physicians, other clinicians, community partners and basic, clinical and population scientists to develop and implement research addressing issues in both children and adults, including, but not limited to transitions in care;
  • Work with clinical directors to analyze data to monitor the effectiveness of survivorship programs and identify areas for improvement;
  • Mentor trainees and junior faculty in survivorship care and research;
  • Participate in the leadership of the Cancer Center as a member of the MCWCC Director’s Council which advises the Cancer Center Director on strategic issues;
  • Advocate for the needs of cancer survivors and their families, both within the Cancer Center and in the broader community.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution OR PhD in related field;
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology specialty;
  • Unrestricted State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain license, in the state of Wisconsin;
  • Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful finalist. If a clinician, previous practice in pediatric oncology and/or BMTEligible for a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor;
  • Proven experience in cancer survivorship, oncology, or a related field with strong publication record and strong funding record;
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Experience working in an NCI designated cancer center preferred.
