About the Role

The Associate Director of Student Services provides quality programs and services that facilitate access and foster academic, career, and personal success for all students. This position also supports the Director of Student Services and enhances the Student Services function by offering a broad range of student activities that promote engagement and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Offers placement assistance and career development to students and graduates.
  • Teaches students skills in resume writing.
  • Assists students with job searches and job search strategies.
  • Prepares students for interviews with interviewing techniques.
  • Provides job leads and maintains a job bulletin board.
  • Informs students of job fairs and local recruitment efforts.
  • Coordinates and facilitates student activities, including Student Government Association and/or Phi Theta Kappa.
  • Assists other student organizations in housing minutes, rosters, and records.
  • Participates in the coordination of graduation ceremonies.
  • Engages in community and civic events.
  • Manages the monthly student newsletter and all other student communications.
  • Provides excellent customer service to students and handles requests professionally via telephone, email, or in person.
  • Fulfills student requests for degree shipments, IDs, and other student services inquiries.
  • Develops and maintains employer relationships.
  • Provides placement assistance to employers and assists with resume referrals.
  • Administers job orders and maintains accurate records and documentation.
  • Manages student databases, including graduate surveys and alumni update forms.
  • Ensures graduates have completed all necessary documentation and are cleared of all obligations.
  • Assists the Student Services Director as requested.
  • Creates and maintains non-placement related bulletin boards on campus.
  • Routinely takes pictures of campus events and students in the classroom.
  • Serves students lunch occasionally.
  • Escorts students to appropriate staff offices as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two years of related experience.
  • Managerial experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership, human resources, and student experience.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of a classroom and providing workshops on resumes and interviewing skills.
