Associate Director of Student Accounts

Missouri Baptist University is seeking an Associate Director of Student Accounts to lead student billing, collections, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance activities. This position manages the Student Accounting Office and works closely with students, families, Financial Aid, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely account management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student billing, payment processing, collections, and account reconciliation.
• Prepare required IRS forms, including Forms 1098-T, 1042-S, and 8300.
• Reconcile online payments, invoices, miscellaneous charges, and bank remittances.
• Assist students and families with billing and payment questions by phone, email, and in person.
• Partner with Financial Aid and other departments to resolve account discrepancies.
• Prepare balance, registration, bad-debt write-off, and scholarship tax-withholding reports.
• Coordinate international student insurance billing and collect required Student Accounts documentation.
• Manage Student Accounting Office employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain billing policies, procedures, quality-control queries, and the Student Accounts calendar.
• Monitor regulatory changes and maintain required Veterans Affairs credentials and compliance.
• Review account adjustments, write-offs, debt disputes, settlement offers, and compliance filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in student accounts, financial services, or higher education administration.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and IRS reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information systems such as CAMS.
• A master's degree and supervisory experience in a college or university financial services office are preferred.
