Associate Director of Product Management, Product Discovery & Evaluation
About the Role
Home shopping is uniquely complex. Customers often begin with an incomplete idea of what they need, navigate enormous assortments, evaluate products across dozens of factors, and make high-consideration decisions where confidence, value, and trust matter. We're looking for an exceptional product leader to shape how millions of customers discover, explore, evaluate, and choose products for their homes.
As the product leader for Wayfair's Product Discovery & Evaluation portfolio, you'll help customers move from an initial idea to a set of relevant options, explore and compare a vast assortment, understand the value of their choices, and make confident decisions. Your teams will own the core experiences and capabilities that make this possible—from navigation, brand and browse experiences to product detail pages, promotions, user-generated content, and the platforms and systems that power them across Wayfair's web and app.
As Associate Director of Product Management, you'll build a high-performing Product Management organization, partnering closely with Engineering, ML Science, Design, and business leaders to shape some of Wayfair's most core shopping experiences. You'll recruit, coach, and develop an exceptional team of Product Managers, establish operating mechanisms that enable the organization to execute at scale, and continuously raise the Product Management bar.
Success in this role requires exceptional customer and product judgment, strong technical fluency, and the ability to translate advances in AI into experiences that materially improve how customers shop. You'll determine where Wayfair should rethink traditional e-commerce patterns, where existing approaches remain valuable, and how to create more natural, helpful experiences across a massive and diverse catalog.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Wayfair's Product Discovery and Product Evaluation portfolio across web and app. This includes helping customers discover relevant products, explore and narrow vast assortments, understand category-specific options, and make confident decisions through more intelligent product detail and shopping experiences.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers spanning Product Exploration, Shopping Discovery, Promotions & Curations, Product Evaluation, Product Confidence, and Product Pricing, Offers & Value.
- Reimagine the e-commerce funnel around more adaptive, personalized, conversational, and AI-powered journeys that help customers move from an initial idea to confident product decisions.
- Transform how customers explore and evaluate Wayfair's assortment, moving beyond static navigation, grids, filters, and product pages toward experiences that adapt to customer intent, product category, and shopping mission.
- Shape the evolution of promotional, seasonal, curated, and conversational shopping experiences, helping customers express their needs naturally and move seamlessly between discovery, exploration, and evaluation.
- Partner with Engineering, Design, ML Science, Analytics, Merchandising, and Marketing to build reusable capabilities that enable teams to create, personalize, experiment with, and optimize shopping experiences at scale.
- Drive portfolio-level investment decisions and influence senior leaders through clear product vision, strong strategic judgment, and data-informed decision making.
We Are a Match Because You Have
- 12+ years of product management experience building and scaling sophisticated consumer technology products, preferably in e-commerce, marketplaces, consumer internet, or similarly complex digital environments.
- 5+ years of experience leading Product Managers, with a demonstrated track record of hiring, coaching, and building high-performing product organizations.
- Experience defining and executing multi-year product strategy across a broad portfolio of interconnected customer experiences.
- Deep experience in areas such as e-commerce discovery, browse and navigation, product detail experiences, conversational products, merchandising, promotions, user-generated content, pricing, or AI-powered consumer experiences.
- Exceptional customer judgment, systems thinking, and technical fluency, with the ability to rethink established product paradigms and connect customer experiences to the platforms, data, and capabilities required to power them at scale.
- Proven success partnering across Engineering, Design, ML Science, Analytics, and business organizations to deliver high-impact products and measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, align large cross-functional organizations, make difficult portfolio trade-offs, and communicate complex problems with clarity.
