About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse leader to join our team as an Assistant Director of Clinical & Patient Services (ADCPS). This is an excellent opportunity for a hospice or home health nurse who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career while remaining connected to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Support a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement through participation in QAPI and survey-readiness initiatives.
  • Help monitor clinical resources, including pharmacy, DME, medical supplies, and overtime, while balancing responsible resource utilization with excellent patient care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to our Admission Nurses, helping ensure referrals are responded to promptly and admissions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide guidance and support to Clinical Managers and clinical team members.
  • Assist with the supervision and development of nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, and Admission Nurses.
  • Help onboard, orient, train, and mentor new and existing team members.
  • Be a trusted clinical resource for staff, helping them navigate complex patient-care situations and operational challenges.
  • Participate in the Administrator On-Call rotation, providing leadership support for urgent clinical or operational issues.
  • Support clinical documentation reviews and chart audits to promote accurate, complete, and timely documentation.
  • Participate in QAPI activities and initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes, team performance, and operational excellence.
  • Help ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, California hospice regulations, and applicable accreditation standards.
  • Monitor clinical resource utilization and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising patient care.
  • Provide clinical guidance related to patient care, symptom management, and end-of-life needs.
  • Help address patient and family concerns with compassion, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Conduct patient visits and admissions when needed to support our patients, families, and clinical team.
  • Step into delegated responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Clinical & Patient Services, as directed by leadership and agency policy.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted RN license.
  • 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 2 years of hospice or home health experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of leadership, supervisory, or charge nurse experience.
  • Experience with CMS hospice Conditions of Participation (42 CFR 418) and Idaho hospice regulations.
