The Associate Director of Haven at BattleCreek Church
is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for individuals with special needs and their families. This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Haven with developing and leading programs that provide spiritual growth, community involvement, and resources tailored to the unique needs of each individual. The Associate Director of Haven works closely with Dream Team and families to ensure that the ministry aligns with the church’s mission of helping all people advance in their journey with Christ.
Your Day-to-Day
- Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, equipping and scheduling Dream Team for all areas of Haven ministry
- Develop and empower a leadership group of coaches, as well as a weekday Dream Team
- Develop relationships with Dream Team members and Haven families
- Work with the Director of Haven to resource and equip campus and central ministry staff to best serve families with special needs
- Handle day to day operations of the Haven ministry, including facilities and classroom maintenance, environment set up, curriculum prep, guest connections, safety and security procedures
- Ensure compliance with budget guidelines and Haven safety procedures
- Perform other church duties as assigned by the Director of Haven to help all people of all ages all the time advance in their journey with Christ
What We’re Looking For
- Education & Experience: We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (but it is not required) and 1 to 3 years of related experience gained through increasing positions within discipline preferred.
- Skills & Strengths: We are looking for someone who:
- Aligns with the vision and mission of BattleCreek Church.
- Has strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Enjoys building relationships and have a high level of customer service.
- Has excellent time management.
- Takes ownership of your his or her own development.
- Communicates and listens well.
The Essentials
- Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes.
- Evening and weekend hours may be required—it's all part of ministry life!
- This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 to 40 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, or prepping for events.
