About the role

With the Associate Dean, lead the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive recruitment and communication plans for Master’s, PhD, and certificate programs. Oversee personalized communication flows in Slate across the full student journey, from prospect to enrollment. Partner with COM’s marketing team on integrated marketing initiatives, ensuring brand consistency and messaging alignment. Analyze recruitment trends and use data to adjust strategies and meet enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment and communication strategy (40%):
    • Identify target markets, refine yield strategies, and optimize conversion funnels.
    • Supervise the staff member responsible for day-to-day execution of communication flows in Slate.
    • Contribute enrollment data and audience insights to inform campaign strategy and messaging.
    • Serve as key liaison with digital marketing agency and collaborate on social media and web content.
    • Represent BU COM at recruitment events as needed.
  • Slate CRM management and optimization (35%):
    • Provide strategic leadership for COM’s Slate CRM, aligning communication campaigns, audience segmentation, event registration, automation, and analytics with enrollment objectives.
    • Partner with the Assistant Director of Admission & Financial Aid on admission processes within Slate, ensuring alignment with central BU Graduate Enrollment standards.
    • Train and support team members on Slate best practices and functionalities.
    • Stay current with Slate updates, participate in BU central Slate working group, and recommend improvements.
    • Monitor data quality and integrity; conduct regular audits and data cleanup.
  • Data analysis and reporting (20%):
    • Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives using Slate analytics.
    • Translate data insights into actionable, COM-specific strategies and recommendations.
    • Identify trends, measure ROI, and present data-informed recommendations to leadership.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards or reports tracking key enrollment performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaboration and leadership (5%):
    • Build and sustain strong working relationships with central BU grad enrollment team, COM graduate admissions, COM marketing team, academic departments, and other campus partners.
    • Participate in professional development and stay current with trends in higher education enrollment, digital marketing, and Slate capabilities.
    • Assist with recruitment, current student events, and COM commencement.
    • Supervise one direct report responsible for Slate communication execution, analytics, and recruitment support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment or enrollment management in a higher education setting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Slate CRM, including building communication campaigns, creating and managing reports, configurable joins, audience segmentation, automated workflows, liquid markup, and portal configuration.
  • Ability to develop and execute successful marketing and communication strategies across multiple channels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret enrollment data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with website content strategy (including SEO/AEO), content management systems, and basic HTML preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Pay

Expected hiring range: $71,700 – $90,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and internal pay comparison.
