The Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations at California State University, Los Angeles, oversees the comprehensive student financial aid delivery system, managing over 50,000 applications annually. Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director in planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating all phases of federal, state, and university financial aid programs.
  • Works collaboratively with staff to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of quality financial aid services.
  • Provides guidance on the resolution of complex student appeals and requests for exceptions.
  • Serves as the senior administrative officer in the Director’s absence, representing the Director at meetings and exercising delegated authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, Business, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Six years of professional financial aid experience, including at least three years of managerial/supervisory experience in a college or university financial aid office.
  • Thorough and demonstrated knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience in an automated student financial aid system at a large college or university.
  • Excellent skills in writing, public speaking, interpersonal interaction with staff and supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • An interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in PeopleSoft student information system, WebGrants, Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), Blackbaud, On-Base, and the National Student Loan Database Systems.
  • Ability to plan and implement technical projects.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $5,053- $16,221 monthly. (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $5,053 - $7,845/Monthly)
