About the role

The Associate Director of Medical Training is a key strategic partner responsible for building and delivering impactful training programs that elevate the capabilities of the broader Medical Affairs organization. This role ensures that all Medical Affairs associates are equipped with the scientific knowledge, compliance understanding, and professional skills needed to excel in a fast-paced biotech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Curriculum Development
    • Research, design and develop scientifically accurate, engaging, and interactive training materials (e.g., presentations, eLearning modules, job aids etc.)
    • Partner with Medical, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop and maintain scientifically accurate, compliant training content
    • Partner with Field Medical to ensure alignment on disease-state and clinical competency expectations
    • Conduct quarterly reviews and updates of training curricula to maintain relevance and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Training Facilitation and Trainer Certification
    • Lead live and virtual training sessions for global Medical Affairs teams, ensuring high levels of engagement and knowledge retention
    • Utilize adult learning principles and innovative instructional design techniques to enhance learning experiences
  • Onboarding & Continuous Learning
    • Develop and execute onboarding programs for new Medical Affairs team members in collaboration with the Field Medical leadership team, including Field Medical and headquarters Medical teams, ensuring a smooth transition and foundational understanding of scientific and operational competencies
    • Conduct ongoing training needs assessments and gap analyses across Medical Affairs functions
    • Monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure successful integration and performance
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure training effectiveness, capability development, and impact on organizational performance and launch readiness
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
    • Manage and update content within the LMS, ensuring accurate tracking of training completion and compliance
    • Collaborate with IT and instructional design teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize user experience
    • Support the planning, design, development, and implementation of training solutions and learning technologies to support training needs
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with cross-functional teams including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial to align training initiatives with strategic objectives
    • As needed, support global training rollouts and localization efforts
    • Develop an annual training plan and budget in alignment with Medical Program Leads and Field Medical leadership to support new-hire onboarding, ongoing development, regional and national meetings, vendor engagement, and professional development initiatives across all functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced scientific or doctoral degree in a scientific discipline strongly preferred (MS, PhD, PharmD)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Medical Training, or a related role
  • Experience designing and facilitating training programs for diverse audiences

Benefits

Base salary for this position is expected to range between $190,248.00 - $232,526.00 USD per year. The salary offered is determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education and training, overall related experience, specialized, rare or in-demand skill sets, internal comparators and other business needs. Upon joining Intellia, your salary will be reviewed periodically and additional factors such as time in role and performance will be considered. Intellia may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Pay

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $190,248.00 - $232,526.00 USD per year.

Schedule

The Associate Director of Medical Training is a full-time position.
