Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships by identifying needs, risks, and opportunities, and developing strategies to address them.
- Lead and contribute to the execution of research, evaluation, and advisory projects to ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop research and evaluation solutions that adhere to industry best practices and incorporate innovative research methodologies.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver work that meets defined objectives and client expectations.
- Ensure project scopes, schedules, and budgets are executed successfully and aligned with contract requirements.
- Communicate complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support quality assurance by establishing review processes and staffing approaches.
- Author client-facing memos, reports, and presentations.
- Lead market transformation research and evaluation projects, assessing program design, market barriers, and adoption trends.
- Design and lead qualitative research projects, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, and other qualitative methods, synthesizing findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on market transformation, advising clients and internal teams on program strategy and evaluation approach.
- Support building electrification research and evaluation projects, assessing program design, customer adoption, technology trends, and market impacts.
- Supervise and mentor junior consulting staff to support their professional growth and advancement.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in market transformation programs, including hands-on experience designing, implementing, or evaluating market transformation initiatives.
- Strong qualitative research skills, including experience designing and conducting in-depth interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis.
- Some subject-matter familiarity with building electrification, including program design, technologies, customer adoption, or market dynamics, is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, engineering, or a related field.
Qualifications
- Approximately 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years designing and implementing energy research and evaluation projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead research and evaluation studies from design through delivery.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and asking smart questions.
- Experience working well across disciplines and perspectives.
- Strong project management skills, including managing scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality assurance.
- Experience supporting client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor.
- Experience synthesizing complex information into clear recommendations.
- Experience communicating research methodology and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of energy policy, regulatory frameworks, or program environments.
- Experience supporting business development, including proposal development, scope design, and finalist presentations.
- Exposure to building electrification, the technologies involved, and the market forces shaping it.

Pay
The budgeted salary for this position is $120,000–$150,000 USD + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Schedule
This role will be remote with occasional travel expected 1–4 times per year.
