About the role

Serve as the technical expert for high-temperature coating manufacturing processes, providing expertise in materials selection, coating performance, and process optimization.

  • Lead qualification and approval of materials, processes, suppliers, and manufacturing methods while ensuring compliance with engineering, customer, and quality requirements.
  • Drive implementation of new business initiatives, process transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Establish and standardize technical standards, engineering methodologies, and best practices to support operational excellence.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineers and technicians through training, competency development, and team-building activities.
  • Foster collaboration across Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D to advance coating technologies, support commercialization efforts, and drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Over 10+ years of experience in advanced coating manufacturing and materials engineering with a strong focus on relevant technologies and applications.
  • A proven track record of developing, managing, and deploying new material and coating technologies into production environments.
  • Leadership skills with a record of managing technical teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and executing complex technical projects.
  • Strong background in aerospace propulsion, gas turbines, power generation, or other high-temperature industrial applications; experience with tooling, masking, equipment design, and aviation qualification processes is highly valued.
  • Technical and operational flexibility, including ABB robotic programming (preferred) and willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily domestically with some international travel.
