Associate Director, Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

Help support the operations organization by providing manufacturing and engineering knowledge and a continuous improvement mindset to solve challenges within the business. This includes leading projects, supporting day-to-day operations in a regulated environment, and managing cross-functional partnerships to align on goals and meet company objectives. This is a fully onsite role seated at our Warsaw, Indiana headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Define facility needs with operations, quality, manufacturing engineers, and maintenance personnel
• Hire, train, and oversee direct reports and facility maintenance personnel
• Oversee installation details for new equipment, processes, and products
• Coordinate outside contractors and vendors; write purchase orders as required
• Coordinate IQ, OQ, and PQ projects with engineers, operations, and materials management personnel
• Play a key role in manufacturing and engineering annual budget submission
• Oversee manufacturing process performance and trends
• Participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
• Participate in facility and product audits (internal and external agencies)
• Perform plant and process tours as required
• Plan facilities’ future upgrades, modifications, and capacity expansions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or a related field (required)
• 7+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 3+ years with direct reports (required)
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 3+ years with direct reports (preferred)
• Experience managing project budgets and monitoring progress against budget goals
• Vendor management experience with hands-on external negotiations
• Experience in raw material manufacturing, investment casting, polymer molding, or bio-materials fabrication to GMP standards
• Knowledge or experience with ISO 13485 requirements (a plus)
• Experience leading both exempt and non-exempt employees
• Approximately 10% domestic travel expected

Pay

Expected compensation range: $145,000 to $175,000, plus target bonus.
