Associate Director - Legal Counsel

About the Role The Attorney will provide legal support to an established global asset management firm, advising business partners on a broad range of investment management, regulatory, fund governance, and compliance matters. This role will focus on supporting registered investment companies, including mutual funds and ETFs, while working closely with internal stakeholders, fund boards, and outside counsel.Key ResponsibilitiesReview, prepare, and update mutual fund and ETF registration statements, prospectuses, statements of additional information, and related regulatory disclosuresSupport fund governance activities, including preparing board materials, drafting meeting minutes, and attending Board of Trustees meetingsAssist with regulatory, product, and business change initiatives impacting registered investment productsAdvise on and draft agreements relating to mutual fund and ETF operations, service providers, and investment management activitiesParticipate in the annual fund contract renewal and 15(c) process for registered investment companiesRequired QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to at least one state bar2+ years of legal experience within a law firm, asset manager, investment adviser, mutual fund complex, or other financial services organizationWorking knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and regulations governing registered investment companiesExperience supporting mutual funds, ETFs, investment advisers, or other registered investment products preferred
